MT Digest - Autumn 2024 Budget special
What to read right now…
The Autumn 2024 Budget is up on the government website in full in case you want to give it a read.
But if not, the BBC has done a pretty good summary of the highlights.
The Office for Budget Responsibility’s verdict on the new Budget is not exactly glowing.
Blick Rothenberg have brought out their usual tax calculator to help you see whether you’re better or worse off under the new budget.
They’ve also done a very helpful summary of the winners and losers.
The deal that’s a steal…
Struggling to dry your clothes as temperatures fall?
A heated clothes dryer is what those in the know swear by.
Think of it like a tumble dryer but cheaper to run. It also reduces the chances of you ending up with wrinkled outfits.
Lakeland is currently offering the Dry:Soon Deluxe 3-Tier Heated Airer* with a £70 discount.
This one can be put away like a clothes rack and comes with castor wheels so you can move it around easily.
They’ve got a few different options but the best value one is the bundle with full accessories.
It normally retails for £339.94. Right now you’ll pay just £269.94.
If you only do one thing…
It’s perhaps time to take another look at your finances.
While the latest Budget might not affect you right now, it could impact you in the future.
The changes to pensions and capital gains taxes will certainly make tax-free wrappers such as ISAs more attractive, for example.
And you may well want to rethink whether a LISA is better than regular pension contributions.
